Annette Haven runs a cat house in Memphis that has been open for business for more than 100 years. Annette tells us both her mother and grandmother worked in the house as prostitutes, and she's proud to carry on the tradition. But now the local prude patrol is out to close down the operation, which they see as an affront to decent folks and a center of political corruption.
They may be right on the second count because all of the town's leading men come to the house of ill repute to get their pipes cleaned, and so the girls are having a lot of post-coital influence on the town fathers.
Luckily, Annette has had a thing going with the local sheriff for six years, and at the end of the film they end up getting hitched. Once Annette is Mrs. Sheriff, her bordello is just as safe as it can be.
